During a gathering in Kharkiv focused on innovations in unmanned technologies, Maksym Klymenko, founder of Amazing Drones, presented a new strike drone that could dramatically reshape frontline tactics. The drone, built with imported components, is capable of flying up to 20 kilometers and dropping a munition directly on enemy positions.
“They’re taking everything we have — and still lining up. The demand is insane. This is the kind of equipment that was needed yesterday,” Maksym commented.
“We say Russians make missiles — each costing millions of dollars. And this thing? Just 500 to 600 dollars. Do you realize how many of these we can make instead of a single missile? Thousands — and no electronic warfare can stop them.”
This strategy — mass-producing affordable, yet high-quality and effective drones — is one of the most promising directions in modern defense engineering. The primary goal is to preserve the lives of Ukrainian soldiers while destroying enemy equipment and personnel from a safe distance.
"Drones Are Consumables": The Reality on the Front Lines
Volunteer, event co-organizer, and head of the Victory Drones project Maria Berlinska confirmed that demand for Ukrainian-made drones among soldiers is growing daily, far outpacing supply. According to her, over 28,000 peoplehave already received drone pilot training through Victory Drones.
“When the Ministry of Defense boasts that it has contracted thousands of drones, it only sounds impressive to outsiders. On average, 150–200 drones are lost at the front per day. So what is a thousand? It’s a one-month supply. We need hundreds of thousands — and urgently,” Berlinska stressed.
She emphasized that in the war of the future, engineers are the key figures. Their innovations help save Ukrainian lives and achieve victories with fewer losses.
“We have five to six times fewer troops than the enemy. That’s why we must rely on smart warfare. Today, the most important person in the country isn’t the president, defense minister, or a journalist — it’s the engineer,” she declared.
FPV Drones: The Weapon Changing the War
Maria Berlinska highlighted the role of FPV drones — fast, real-time piloted devices capable of striking targets with precision:
“Instead of sending a human into reconnaissance or a platoon into an assault, we can launch 10 FPV drones. They’ll enter enemy trenches, destroy mortar crews, and clear the way for our troops to enter a relatively safe zone.”
To win, Ukraine must focus not only on producing aerial drones en masse but also on robotic ground and naval systems. These will ensure effective operations on the battlefield, in the Black Sea, and in hard-to-reach areas.
Next Steps: Scaling and Support
The next large-scale presentation of Ukrainian drones is planned for August. The event is being organized by the Dignitas Foundation and Victory Drones — a project that combines training, tech support, and equipment for Ukrainian drone operators serving in the Armed Forces.
“This is achievable — but only if engineers receive proper support from the government, private sector, and local authorities. We must invest not in TV series, paving stones, or parades, but in saving human lives. And that is absolutely realistic,” Berlinska concluded.
Ukraine’s Drone Revolution Is Already Underway
The Ukrainian drone revolution is not a future dream — it's happening now. The sooner we support it, the sooner we can protect our people, repel the enemy, and win.
